Blogs as Internet Advertising

Blogs are an excellent form of advertising. By creating journal-style entries, you create a compelling story format for your audience. They give you and your business an excellent platform to engage your target audience and demonstrate how your products and solutions can fit into potential customer’s lives.

Consider Audi’s recent marketing campaign. Audi used Blogs along with other marketing venues to create a total entertainment experience titled The Art of the Heist. The concept was to create advertising through a multi-venue media experience by creating a whodunit action adventure mystery. Readers were able to get more in-depth info about the main characters at their blog site. Audi used the blog to gain demographics and statistics about their audience as well as promote the more technical aspects of their cars.

According to reports, the campaign was ridiculously successful. “…(the) blog component of the campaign was one half of one percent of the marketing spend and generated (ready for this?) 29% of the traffic to the Web site.”
