I was put off by Obama’s flash intro, too. When I am surfing, I am generally looking for information. Anything that gets in the way of what I am looking for irritates me. Clicking through flash intros is very high on the list.

One thing that is interesting about it is the A/B marketing testing they do: displaying different flash videos and measuring the results. I do wonder what exactly they are measuring exactly. I’m sure it would be interesting.

Look for an article here comparing and contrasting McCain and Obama’s website designs here early next week.

Wow, I didn’t notice that. I just looked up a few senators sites, and I am annoyed (even though I was expecting it! ).

Obama’s site was the most annoying, yet actually effective. I didn’t even know that wasn’t the site at first.

It is sad that a lot of those problems are due to excited flash developers, but those are problems are not nearly as prevalent as they were a few years ago.

Definitely agree with the broken links thing. That screams unprofessional.
