I always like to go second and relate an amusing anecdote. Everyone hears so many elevator speeches that they are impossible to remember them all. If you have an anecdote that you can link into what the other person just said you’ll 1) prove that you were listening 2) get their attention – they may not really be listening to you and 3) become memorable.
